Anabela Caetano is Partner at GPA Law Firm, Head of Practice Partner of Tax. She has been a CAAD Arbitrator in tax matters since 2019.
Anabela joined GPA in February 2018 as managing associate. She has more than 25 years' experience in tax advisory, 16 of which at PwC Portugal where she was Tax Manager at the tax advisory department in the financial services / real estate investment area.
Anabela's most relevant work includes tax consultancy and tax litigation. She advises national and international clients from various sectors and industries, in liaison with GPA's other practice areas, covering a wide range of topics, taxes and jurisdictions, including investment structuring, in transactions with investors, especially institutional investors (covering mergers, acquisitions, financial operations and foreign investment).
Anabela also advises clients in the course of tax inspections, administrative claims, hierarchical appeals, requests for ex-officio review, requests for reimbursement of withholding tax and administrative offence proceedings. She assists with legal challenges and requests for judgements from the Tax Arbitration Court. She has been a member of the Portuguese Tax Association since 2010.
Anabela Caetano is lecturer and trainer on the above-mentioned areas of expertise.
