News Voluntary Carbon Market – Public Consultation: Carbon Methodology for New Forestations 02/04/2025

The public consultation regarding the new carbon methodology for New Forestations under the Voluntary Carbon Market (VCM), created by Decree-Law No. 4/2024, of 5 January.

The public consultation runs until April 25, 2025, allowing all interested parties to participate.

Developed by the Technical Monitoring Committee of the VCM, this methodology focuses on increasing carbon sequestration through forestation while generating environmental, social, and economic benefits, including biodiversity and sustainable development.
