Decree-Law No 65/2021, which regulates the Legal Regime for Cyberspace Security and defines cybersecurity certification obligations under Regulation (EU) 2019/881 of the European Parliament and the Council of 17 April 2019, was published on 30 July.
In general, this Decree-Law aims to promote a safer cyberspace, considering, first of all, three assumptions: (i) the increasingly decisive role that information technologies play in the development of life in society, (ii) the challenge of the digital transition and (iii) the emergence of new disruptive technologies (e.g. artificial intelligence, virtual and augmented reality and the Internet of things).
