News Practical Guide on PRIIPs – 2nd Edition revised 02/05/2019

Ricardo Couto of GPA-Gouveia Pereira, Costa Freitas & Associados, is the author of a practical guide on packaged retail investment and insurance products (PRIIPs), whose 2nd revised edition is now available.

This new regime, resulting from Regulation (EU) No 1286/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council, as well as from a wide range of subsequent national and European legislation regulates as of 1 January 2018, the Key Information Documents ("KIDs" ) for packaged retail investment and insurance products ("PRIIPs") for non-professional investors and establishes a profound change in the obligations and duties of financial intermediaries producing, selling and providing consultancy on PRIIPs.

This practical guide is therefore a support to the integrated reading of the regulatory framework currently in force on the subject of PRIIPs and their "KIDs", without, however, replacing, waiving or even interpreting the legal statutes in force, which will always have to be directly consulted for the application to any specific situation.
