Pursuant to the Decree of the President of the Republic No. 6-B / 2021 of 13 January, the declaration of a state of emergency was renewed (already duly authorized by the Resolution of the Assembly of the Republic No. 1-B / 2021) by a new period of 15 days, based on the confirmation of a situation of public calamity, which will start at 00:00 on January 16, 2021 and will end at 23:59 on January 30, 2021, without prejudice to possible future renewals.
In view of the fact that the previous declaration of State of Emergency is still in force, and following the aforementioned renewal, Decree No. 3-A / 2021 of 14 January was approved and published, regulating the modification and extension of the state of emergency carried out by the Decree of the President of the Republic identified above, applicable to the entire national territory, which will enter into force at 00:00 on the 15th of January, and which establishes several additional measures to control the COVID 19 pandemic.
The present regulation of the State of Emergency again sets foth rules similar to those that prevailed during the “Lockdown” of March 2020, despite some relevant differences and exceptions, namely in relation to the functioning of educational establishments, religious celebrations, physical activity and sports, professional sports, catering, fairs and markets, etc.
In addition, the vast majority of sanitary and public health measures previously enacted, namely regarding the use of masks and visors, body temperature control, diagnostic tests, etc., remain in force.
