News News Flash - Temporary legal regime for notarial acts by videoconference 04/01/2022

It was published in Diário da República (Journal of the Republic), last December 30, the Decree-Law No. 126/2021, that establishes the temporary legal regime applicable to the realization, through videoconference, of authentic acts, terms of authentication of private documents and recognitions.

The new Decree-Law appears as a response to the public health emergency situation resulting from the COVID-19 disease, which motivated the use of remote means, either in the private or the public sector, coming into force on April 4, 2022, being in effect for two years.

After these two years, the regime established by this Decree-Law must be evaluated by the Government, in order to consider its level of implementation, scope and support model for the performance of the acts, with a view to its eventual consolidation in the legal order.
