On June 22, 2020, Regulation (EU) 2020/852 was published, concerning the establishment of a framework for the promotion of sustainable investment and amending Regulation (EU) 2019/2088, reinforcing the investment orientation ever growing sustainability and harmonization of standards in this area, thus avoiding negative distortions of competition and bias in investment decisions.
Regulation (EU) 2020/852 establishes the criteria for determining whether an economic activity qualifies as environmentally sustainable, with a view to establishing the extent to which an investment is, in turn, environmentally sustainable.
