News News Flash - Local Accommodation Regulation for the city of Lisbon (RMAL) 27/11/2019

One year after the last amendment to the Legal Regime for the Operation of Local Accommodation Establishments ("RJEEAL”), pursuant to Law No. 71/2018, 31 December, which assigned new powers to municipal bodies, in particular to create areas of containment with regard to the installation of new local accommodation establishments, the latest Local Accommodation Regulation for the city of Lisbon ("RMAL") was approved last November 5th.

The conclusion of this process is part of the Lisbon municipality`s intention to limit the registration of new local accommodation establishments in areas of the city of Lisbon, where their presence is considered disproportionate in relation to the total number of residential units for permanent housing available.
