News News Flash - Extension of the Calamity Situation and Progressive End of Lockdowns 19/05/2020

Following the declaration of the calamity situation on 2 May, the extension of the calamity situation in the entire national territory until 11:59 pm on May 31, 2020 was approved on May 17 (without prejudice to extension or modification as the evolution of the epidemiological situation justifies).

Thus, according to the strategy of lifting lockdown measures in the context of fighting the pandemic disease COVID 19 approved by Resolution of the Council of Ministers No. 33-C / 2020, of April 30, Resolution of the Council of Ministers No. 38/2020 now carries further the process of lifting lockdowns started on that date, in the context of a controlled evolution of the epidemiological situation in Portugal which, although justifying the renewal of the calamity situation, also justifies the approval of new measures for lifting lockdowns and resumption of activity economic.
