News News Flash - CNPD guidelines for the use of technologies to support distance learning 21/04/2020

In view of the critical moment that we are all experiencing, the Government decided to implement a digital program to support education to ensure continuity of the school year, in a non-classroom manner.

The National Data Protection Commission (“CNPD” or “supervisory authority”), within the use of its prerogatives, published on 09.04.2020, guidelines for the different players in the processing of personal data carried out when using information technology to support long distance learning, anticipating the possible risks of using these mechanisms and highlighting some recommendations on their use, namely taking into account the principles enshrined in the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”).

CNPD's guidance aims at processing personal data carried out through non-classroom teaching platforms.
