On the 5th of March 2020, the Securities Market Commission (“CMVM”) released Regulation No. 2/2020, proceeding with the regulation of Law No. 83/2017 of 18 August, which establishes anti money laundering and financing of terrorism measures.
The Regulation will apply to covered entities (as defined in Law No. 83/2017) of a financial nature subject to the exclusive supervision of the CMVM, to entities of a financial nature whose supervision is shared with Banco de Portugal and the auditors, incorporated as a company or in individual practice, seeking to establish a regime as common as possible, while introducing some distinctions taking into account the nature and scope of activity of the regulated entities.
