The concern with the acknowledgment of equal opportunities between men and women and best practices in the governance of GPA Law Firm, namely in management positions, have been a constant throughout the 18 years of the Firm's existence.
One of the first law firms in Portugal to have a Female Managing Partner (Sofia Gouveia Pereira), GPA Law Firm has three female partners out of a total of seven partners (those representing 43%) and, in the firm's management positions, at C-level, it also has a high female representation.
GPA Law Firm currently has a ratio of 61.4% of female lawyers and, in the wider universe of lawyers and employees, women represent around 70%.
This fact was, actually, publicly acknowledged in 2020, where it was evident that GPA Advogados occupied, at the time, in Tier 1, the second position in the ranking of balance between men and women in the Portuguese law market, both in terms of the number of partners and in the number of total lawyers.
