News EEC Opinion on the Proposal for a Data Governance Regulation 26/07/2021

The opinion of the European Economic and Social Committee (EEC) on the Proposal for a Regulation of the European Parliament and the Council on data governance (Data Governance Regulation or Regulation) was published in the Official Journal of the European Union on 16 July. This proposal for a Regulation is centralized in data held by the public sector and subject to the rights of third parties, based on the postulate of Article 114 TFEU. It complements the provisions of Directive (EU) 2019/1024 on open data and the re-use of public sector information, in line with the public sector.
