News Book "New Legal Framework for Pension Funds" 08/01/2021

The “New Legal Regime for Pension Funds” published by the GPA Academy and GPA Advogados is published - aiming at the new regime approved as an appendix to Law No. 27/2020, of 23 July, which transposes the internal legal order to Directive (EU) 2016/2341 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 14 December 2016 on the activities and supervision of institutions for occupational retirement provision (“IORP II Directive”).

With these notes, GPA - Gouveia Pereira, Costa Freitas & Associados, Sociedade de Advogados continues its effort to provide the general public with easy-to-read documents on the main changes in matters of particular importance for the lives of companies, already started with the edition of the General Data Protection Regulation - Legislation and Some Notes or with the publication of the practical Guide to the prevention of money laundering and terrorist financing, among others.

This document was prepared following the realization of an introductory training on the legal framework of the Pension Funds and which was structured in order to provide those who attended it, and all those interested in a first approach to the theme, a support for a first contact with matters related to the Legal Framework for Pension Funds, approved by Law No. 27/2020.

These Notes are not, nor do they intend to be, intended for lawyers, but aiming to allow readers of any area of training or professional practice a first approach to the impact of DDS in their activities.

In the same sense, these Notes are not intended to present an exhaustive treatment of the matter nor can they be seen as legal advice for any purposes, and readers must confront, at all times, the correctness and completeness of the applicable rules, as well as their combination and better interpretation, and should obtain expert advice on the matter whenever they must apply the legal regime discussed here.
